Graffiti by British artist Banksy was cut from the facade of a building in Gostomel, Kyiv region.
Sergei Zhuk, an eyewitness to the incident, announced this on social media.
We are talking about a picture that shows a woman in a dressing gown and a gas mask, with a fire extinguisher in her hands.
As soon as before our eyes the vandals cut off the famous work of Banksy, – Zhuk wrote on Facebook.
In the comments, he added that the people who cut the drawing were immediately detained. The number of detainees was not specified.
The image was applied to the insulation and it was stolen by cutting the foam.
According to the police of the Kyiv region, the detainees explained that they wanted to sell the drawing and transfer the money to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The first graffiti made in the style of Banksy was noticed in the Kyiv region, after which there were suggestions that the British artist visited Ukraine. He later confirmed that he created seven graffiti in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
