A spokesman for the German government claimed that the transfer of these systems to other armies was “never considered.”
Germany is not negotiating with Ukraine on the supply or deployment of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. The German edition of Spiegel reported this, citing the comment of a representative of the German Ministry of Defense on Friday, December 2.
“I am not aware of any negotiations with Ukraine,” the official said.
He also explained that the proposal of Minister Christine Lambrecht is not about transferring Patriot systems to Poland, but about placing them on Polish territory.
According to him, the FRG planned that German soldiers would continue to operate the systems.
“Transferring control over them to other military personnel was never considered,” he said.
Remember, the head of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, Yaroslav Kaczynski, said earlier that Germany would not dare to shoot down Russian missiles with the Patriot system, which it offered to Warsaw. In this regard, they should be transferred to Ukraine, which needs them, the Polish politician believes.
As you know, Germany offered Warsaw the Patriot missile defense system. However, the Polish Ministry of Defense in response asked Germany to transfer these systems to Ukraine.
