Ukrainians should not be strictly restricted by the policies of social networks in covering the consequences of Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine.

Ukraine is asking Meta, which owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram, to reduce requirements for content from Ukraine about the scope of killings and atrocities taking place on the country’s territory. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov in an interview with RBC -Ukraine.

According to him, the department requested the “green corridor” to speed up the process of unblocking accounts for violating privacy policy on social networks.

“I spoke to the top management of Meta on this issue, asked them to adapt corporate policy on social networks with regard to Ukraine. For their analysts and specialists to analyze the types of content and the its format that Ukrainians now use to convey the truth, and accounts are not blocked, ”Fedorov said.

According to him, Ukrainians, especially opinion leaders, should not be strictly limited by the rules of social networks in covering the consequences of Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine.

“I explained to them: if people die in our country, rockets are fired to our homes and we post it, then this is content that should be distributed. Because it’s horror that happens in our streets. Why is the content blocked this, if it is true? ” – The minister reasonably says- I ask for a “green corridor” so that we can quickly apply for the unblocking of our opinion leaders and accounts of citizens who speak about what is happening here. If Russia is spreading fakes, then we are telling the truth. I think that such a solution would be “Fedorov noted.

He added that the Ministry of Digital Development is constantly in talks and is gradually resolving these issues. There are fewer blockages and they can be removed quickly.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development announced the launch of a website to collect evidence of war crimes in the Russian Federation.
