US President Joe Biden is ready to reach out to Russian President Vladimir Putin if he starts looking for a way to end the war in Ukraine. The American leader said this in a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, CNN reports on Thursday, December 1.
“He (Putin – ed.) was just wrong in all directions. And the question is… how will he get out of the situation? I am ready, if he wants to talk, to find out what he is ready to do, but I will this only after consultations with my NATO allies. I will not do this alone,” Biden said.
The American leader emphasized that he “has no immediate plans to talk to Putin.”
“I am ready to negotiate with Putin on the end of the war in Ukraine, if there is an interest on his part, and he will look for ways to end this war, but so far it has not been done,” Biden said.
In this regard, Emmanuel Macron said that when Ukraine sets the conditions for a peace agreement, he is ready to talk to Putin.
Earlier, Joe Biden emphasized that Washington will not participate in truce talks with Moscow without Kyiv.
