More than $1 trillion is needed for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. Partner countries are involved in this process, which can take certain cities and regions under their patronage. This was announced on Tuesday, November 29, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message.
“Now we are engaging dozens of partner countries in the restoration of Ukraine. The total cost of the work is more than a trillion dollars,” he said.
Zelensky added that thanks to the patronage system, countries and companies can start the restoration of specific regions, cities, areas or businesses.
He mentioned that France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Austria, Greece, Canada, USA, Japan and Australia.
Recall that the US authorities will finance the purchase of power grid equipment for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy system for $53 million.
Also, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the city of Kyiv signed a memorandum providing for the restoration and modernization of the capital’s transport infrastructure.
