In connection with what happened in Sofia, steps were taken to create alternative mechanisms for the supply of natural gas and resolve the situation.

Russian Gazprom on Tuesday, April 26, informed Bulgarian Bulgargaz about the cessation of gas supplies from April 27. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria.

“The Bulgarian side has fully fulfilled its obligations and made all payments required under this agreement, in a timely manner, strictly and in accordance with its clauses,” the department stressed.

At the same time, the statement states that the new two -stage payment scheme proposed by Russia does not comply with the current contract and creates significant risks for Bulgaria.

In connection with what happened in Sofia, steps were taken to create alternative mechanisms for the supply of natural gas and resolve the situation.

“Currently, no restrictive measures are required for consumption in Bulgaria,” the Energy Ministry concludes.

Recall that last Friday the deadline for repairs for energy sources from the Russian Federation under the new scheme – in rubles – expired. It is now known that Russia’s gas supplies to Poland were cut off last night.
