The information that Belarus is allegedly preparing an offensive was deliberately spread, notes the Main Intelligence Directorate.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Yusov explained whether Alexander Lukashenko is dangerous for Ukraine.
The information that Belarus is allegedly preparing an offensive is deliberately spread, Yusov said, pointing out that such fakes are useful for Russia: this is how the aggressor country tries to scare the Ukrainians.
“Special information-psychological operations often pursue several goals at the same time. And in this case, we see different goals, that is, on the one hand, to sow panic in the population , to Ukrainians, including residents of border areas and regions. And to disorient the Ukrainian defense forces, disperse the forces, overthrow the forces from other directions. Well, the purpose and also the purpose of this special psychological information operation is Belarus itself and the Belarusians, that is, coercion. To make it flash, and still draw Belarus itself into a full-scale war, which before that there was no moment,” said Andrey Yusov.
The GUR representative noted that now it is very important not to fall for such provocations.
“We are not saying that there is no threat from the Lukashenka regime. There is, and Lukashenka is helping Putin with weapons, ammunition, and armored vehicles. He is giving up his airspace for attacks on Ukraine, but to discuss what will happen in the near future full-scale invasion and the participation of Belarus in a ground operation, we cannot do now,” added Yusov.
Earlier it was reported that a fake Belarusian propaganda about Ukrainians was exposed in Poland.
