The human rights activist suggested that Makei negotiate special conditions for Lukashenka if he does not participate in the war against Ukraine.

Russian opposition and human rights activist Mark Feigin believes that Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, whose death was reported on Saturday, November 26, may have been killed by Russian special services. He said this on air at Channel 24.

“This morning I commented about the information that Lukashenko was facing death because of his inaction. And then Makei died instead of him. Again they will say that we are inventing things while traveling. In a war, dying from colds is very unusual,” Feigin said.

According to him, Makei traveled to Europe and tried to be a kind of buffer between the Lukashenka regime and the West. In addition, he tried to negotiate some special conditions for the leader of Belarus.

“As I understand it, Lukashenka completely trusted him, because he discussed very confidential and sensitive topics,” Feygin stressed.

He also did not rule out that Makei could not have died a natural death.

“Perhaps, he is a certain communicator who really expressed an interesting scenario for Lukashenka under the conditions of the West regarding non-participation in the operation from the north against Ukraine. Could it be? I do not rule it out. Means is it that Moscow is interested in eliminating such a trusted face of Lukashenka so that he just disappears? You know, we saw everything, we will not be surprised by anything, “said the opposition.

Feygin added that this is quite possible due to the spread of rumors about the precarious position of Lukashenko, who was forced by the Kremlin to enter the war against Ukraine. The Belarusian dictator has so far avoided this step in every possible way, and the Kremlin is not happy about it.

Earlier, Lukashenka said that Belarusian troops are not taking part in the war against Ukraine, because doing so would “only worsen” and not resolve the conflict.
