Donald Trump’s election campaign has started. The near-simultaneous reinstatement of his Twitter account and the appointment of a special prosecutor to oversee the investigation against him are the first developments since his candidacy was announced last week.
Trump reinstated his Twitter account on Sunday following a decision by the social network’s new owner, Elon Musk. The billionaire announced the return of one of his most famous users through Twitter, referring to the vote he organized two days ago among users. Trump was suspended in early 2021 after the Jan. 6 violent riots against the Capitol. His account resurfaced on Sunday with nearly 58,000 archived posts and 80 million followers. His last tweet was on January 8, 2021, where he said he would not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration as a 46-year-old.e President of the United States.
