Ukraine will raise the fee for the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.
According to Bloomberg, Ukrtransnafta, the operator of Ukraine’s oil pipeline network, is raising tariffs for transporting oil in the direction of Hungary and Slovakia by 2.10 euros per tonne, to 13.60 euros, from January 1.
Ukrtransneft has already informed the Russian Transneft that “the long-term destruction of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure has led to a significant shortage of electricity, an increase in its cost, a shortage of fuel and spare parts.”
Also in the letter of Ukrtransnafta, which was signed by the company’s CEO Volodymyr Tsependa, it is noted that the costs of organizing safe working conditions for personnel and protecting facilities have also increased.
On November 16, Ukraine resumed the pumping of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline in the direction of Hungary, which had been suspended the day before. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
According to the minister, the volume of Russian oil transportation through the territory of Ukraine began to slowly recover after technical work to repair the damage caused by Russia’s massive missile attack on November 22.
The pumping of oil through the pipeline “Druzhba” in the direction of Hungary, Ukraine was forced to suspend due to a voltage drop at one of the units on the territory of Ukraine. Therefore, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban convened a meeting of the Defense Council.
Russia lost 90% of its key oil market in Europe before the embargo
