WHO warns that winter will pose a “threat” to millions of Ukrainians

World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday that the next northern winter may be a “life threat” to millions of Ukrainians due to a series of Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system.

East winter It will pose a “threat to the lives of millions of people in Ukraine,” Hans Kluge, WHO regional director for Europe, told reporters. “To put it simply: this winter will be all about survival,” he added.

“We estimate that another two to three million people will have to leave their homes in search of safety and warmth,” he warned.

“They will have to face health problems, including respiratory infections such as COVID-19pneumonia, influenza,” he warned, insisting on “the serious risk of diphtheria and measles to the population, not enough vaccinated”.
