Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez arrived on an official visit to Moscow and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the Kremlin press service on Tuesday, November 22.
“On the agenda are the current state and prospects for the development of the Russian-Cuban strategic partnership in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as international issues,” the message said.
During the meeting, Putin said that official Moscow has always supported Havana.
“The Soviet Union and Russia have always supported and continue to support the Cuban people in their struggle for freedom, for sovereignty. We have always opposed various kinds of restrictions, embargoes, blockades, and so on, we have always supports Cuba on international platforms. And we see that Cuba takes the same position in relation to our country, in relation to Russia,” said Putin.
According to the Russian head of state, “all this is the result of traditional friendship, established by comrade Fidel Castro.”
