Ukrainian army claims to have found a new torture chamber used by the Russians in the Kherson region, occupied by Kremlin soldiers just over a week ago, local Ukrainian news agencies reported Tuesday.
The new torture center allegedly used by the Russians was located in the city of Strelkovo in the Kherson region in the south of the country, which was partially liberated by the Ukrainian military.
“The Russian occupation forces set up a dungeon on the territory of a recreation center in the village of Strelkovo, Genichesk district, Kherson region,” the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces reported. Ukraine in your Facebook account.
In this center, “citizens of Ukraine were detained and tortured in violation of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war,” the military command said.
Opening of four torture chambers
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office already announced on Monday the discovery of torture chambers in four buildings in the recently liberated city of Kherson, the region’s capital.
“Prosecutors of the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office, together with police officers and experts, conducted checks in four premises where the occupiers illegally detained people and brutally tortured them during the capture of the city,” the agency said on its Facebook page, which the agency cites. According to investigators, during the occupation of Kherson, Russian soldiers and representatives Russian special services in the captured buildings of the Kherson temporary detention center, the detention center and in one of the district police departments, they set up “pseudo-law enforcement agencies”.

Parts of rubber batons, a wooden bat, a device with which the invaders tortured civilians with electric current, an incandescent lamp and bullets in the walls were confiscated, the prosecutor’s office said.
The statement says that various methods of torture, physical and psychological abuse were used in the cells and cellars.
In one of the office buildings, where Russian troops also set up a torture chamber, operatives found, among other things, a piece of a metal pipe and handcuffs. (EFE)
