partisan National Liberation Army (ELN) and the government of Colombia resumed this Monday peace dialogue in Caracas, Venezuela, where representatives of both delegations meet, in the presence of ointernational observers, to resume this process, suspended since 2018.
On behalf of the Colombian Executive, the negotiating team is chaired by Otti Patinoformer partisan close to President Gustavo Petro, Israel Ramireznicknamed “Pablo Beltran”, leads the delegation THEN in this process, which includes Venezuela as a guarantor country.
In a joint statement, the parties agreed “to resume with full political and ethical will the process of political dialogue”, understood as a demand for “rural and urban areas suffering from violence and exclusion”.

Both parties pledged to “build a world based on democracy with justice, with tangible, urgent and necessary changes” that will result from the negotiations.

“We are aware of the need to respond to various aspects of collective life, which implies our responsibility to care for the planet,” the joint statement said.
