Russian authorities are creating a line of fortifications on the Ukrainian border, by analogy with the Belgorod line of the 17th century.
The governor of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Gladkov, published on Telegram footage of the construction of the “notch line” – the line of defense lines on the border of Ukraine.
The day before, during a press conference, he said that the Belgorod notch line (by analogy with the defensive line of the 17th century) was formed due to the tense situation in the region, in particular, a lot of shelling.
According to Gladkov, he could not disclose details on the equipment of the border area, but the work has been underway since April and “is being carried out on a large scale.”

Recall that at the end of October, the governor of the Belgorod region announced the construction of protective structures in the border areas. He posted photos showing concrete tetrahedrons installed on the country’s roads.
