The inhabitants turned Melitopol into a ‘military base’ – mayor

The invaders turned captured Melitopol and the Melitopol region into a “continuous military base,” according to the city’s mayor, Ivan Fyodorov.

According to him, in the past week, ranks of invaders arrived in Melitopol both from Kherson and from the temporarily occupied Tokmak of the Zaporozhye region.

Forts and fortresses are being built along the perimeter of Melitopol. The military lived in captured houses, schools and kindergartens. Military equipment is placed in residential areas.

“Today, buses with trees were delivered to the 22nd school in Melitopol. Grads were placed in the courtyard of the educational institution. In Kirillovka, they lived in captured recreation centers,” wrote by Federov on Telegram.

The mayor of the city said that in the communities of Azov, Novovasilovskaya and Aleksandrovskaya, squatters opened and occupied empty houses.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian occupiers removed their flag from the flagpole in the center of Melitopol and said it was “scheduled maintenance.”
