The Ukrainian military liberated the entire territory of the Nikolaev region on the right bank of the Dnieper River from Russian occupation.
The right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region has been freed from the Russian invaders, but the threat of shelling by Russian troops in the city of Nikolaev remains high. This was announced on Friday, November 11, by the head of the press center of the Defense Forces of the South, Natalya Gumenyuk, on the air of the national telethon.
“On the Kinburn Spit in the Nikolaev region, not far from the city of Ochakov, there are still enemy forces that can fire into the center of the region,” he warned.
At the same time, Gumenyuk pointed out that this is elementary in geography – the location of the enemy’s assets on the Kinburn Spit does not provide Nikolaev with complete security. He also noted that the Ukrainian defenders were ready to fire and counter-battery measures.
“The Russian troops still have weapons there, which may not leave the people of Nikolaev alone. There must be vigilance, and we will do our job,” Gumenyuk added.
Earlier, the head of the Nikolaev OVA, Vitaly Kim, officially announced that the entire Nikolaev region (except Kinburn) was liberated from the Russian invaders.
