Cooperation in the railway sector will help Ukraine “substantially” increase exports to Europe and world markets.
Ukraine and Poland signed a memorandum on the establishment of a joint logistics venture. This was announced on Saturday, April 23, by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal following a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“After Russia unleashed a full-scale war, Poland became a major logistics center for helping Ukraine. Especially close cooperation takes place at the level of the railways of the two countries, and such interaction should be strengthened, ”Shmyhal said.
The signed memorandum provides for the creation of a joint logistics enterprise between the two countries. Shmyhal said that this will dramatically increase the volume of rail transport of Ukrainian exports to the EU and world markets through Europe.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that work on creating such a joint venture will begin immediately. According to Alexander Kamyshin, the head of UZ, the parties began to prepare the concept of a joint venture a week after the start of the war.
The parties also agreed to jointly solve technical and organizational problems-different customs rules, use of different routes, finding free rolling stock.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers reported that Ukrainian agricultural exports fell more than twice.
Recall, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine has found at least three options for exporting products in a war.
