Three important roads run through the land bridge, and a number of Russian logistics facilities and ammunition depots are within range of Ukraine’s precision-guided missile system supplied from the West. It would threaten a critical supply route fueling Russia’s war effort from the peninsula.
As you know, on November 9, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops from the right bank of the Kherson region.
