Russia expressed “strong protest” over decommunization and possible confiscation of Russian property.

Russia threatens to take “asymmetric measures” in response to the demolition of Russian monuments in Latvia. The corresponding statement was made by Moscow to the Latvian Ambassador to Russia, Maris Riekstinsh. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its Telegram channel on Thursday, November 10.

The Russian department announced a “strong protest” to the Latvian diplomat over the demolition of Soviet monuments, and also announced “illegal actions against Russian property.”

“We reserve the right to take retaliatory measures, including asymmetric ones, which will certainly be sensitive for Riga,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The “illegal” measures of the Latvian authorities are allegedly “intended to create obstacles to the work of the Dom Moskvy cultural center in Riga and the Yantarny Bereg sanatorium in Jurmala with the aim of possible seizure of this Russian property,” according to Russia. .

As you know, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania called on the EU, together with international partners, to help Ukraine create a special tribunal to investigate the crimes of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
