President Joe Biden of the United States believes that Moscow’s announcement of withdrawal from Kherson was expected.
US President Joe Biden said that the Kremlin began to have serious problems with the combat capability of its army if it decided to withdraw troops from the right bank of the Dnieper near the city of Kherson. This was said by the head of the White House on Wednesday, November 9th.
In particular, the US President was asked whether Russia’s statement about the evacuation from the right bank of the Kherson region can be considered a potential turning point in the war, and whether Ukraine now has the leverage to start negotiations peace in Moscow.
“First of all, I’m glad they delayed this decision – and we’ve known for a long time that they could do it – until the end of the US elections. And this decision is evidence of the fact that they, the Russian army, have huge problem” said Biden.
“Secondly, it will somehow give everyone time to realign their positions for the winter season, and it remains to be seen whether or not Ukraine is ready to compromise with Russia,” the US president insisted.
Biden also confirmed that he will attend the G20 summit, which will be held on November 15-16 in Bali (Indonesia).
“I’m told that President Putin probably won’t be there, but other world leaders will be in Indonesia. And we’ll have a chance to figure out what the next steps are,” Biden said.
Recall that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops from the right bank of the Kherson region.
