State Texasin the US South plans on Wednesday to execute a man sentenced to death for killing his own mother.
Tracy BeattyA 61-year-old man will receive a lethal injection at the Huntsville City Jail unless justice grants him a last-minute reprieve.
In 2004, he was sentenced to death for strangling his 62-year-old mother the year before.
Recently released from prison after serving a sentence for robbery and violence, he stayed at his mother’s home despite a “conflicted relationship,” according to court documents.
When she asked him to leave, he beat her, strangled her, and then buried her body.
