The Walt Disney Company is closing its Russian office and preparing for a complete shutdown of activities in the Russian Federation. Most of the employees have been laid off. This was announced on Tuesday, November 8, by the Russian specialized publication Bulletin of the Film Distributor.
It was noted that at the moment almost all communications with CIS counterparts go directly through the American Disney office.
The rest of the Major team will move to Disney’s main Russian office in the Lotte Plaza business center to complete the necessary work before the complete cessation of the company’s activities in Russia.
It can be recalled that the Disney film studio banned the distribution of its own films in the Russian Federation since April.
