It has been clarified that, according to Kirby, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has no concrete outcome of the meeting and will not participate in it with a pre -prepared list of what the US can provide to Ukraine.
“He wants to hear from allies and partners, as well as from the Ukrainians themselves, about what they are doing and what they will need in the future,” Kirby said.
He noted that the meeting was not aimed at obtaining security guarantees for Ukraine.
Recently, US President Joe Biden announced the provision of military aid to Ukraine for another $ 800 million. New shipments include heavy weapons, dozens of howitzers, tactical drones and 144,000 rounds of ammunition. Thus, the amount of US military assistance to Ukraine will amount to $ 3.2 billion.
