The DPRK considers the statements about the sale of weapons to Russia as an attempt by the United States “to lower the image of Pyongyang in the international arena.”
North Korea says it has never supplied weapons to Russia and has no plans to do so. This was announced on Monday, November 7, by the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (KCNA), Reuters reports.
“We reiterate that we have never had arms deals with Russia and have no plans to do so in the future,” the statement said.
So in the DPRK, they commented on the words of the communications coordinator of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, who said that North Korea sent significant batches of artillery shells to Russia in early autumn for the war in Ukraine.
After that, US authorities said they would examine the possibility of imposing new sanctions against the DPRK. Neither Moscow nor Pyongyang have officially confirmed such deliveries.
According to intelligence data, the ammunition was allegedly being sent to countries in the Middle East or North Africa, but in fact they were destined for Russia.
It is known that the DPRK supports Russia in a full-scale war in Ukraine: it recognized the legal personality of the terrorist formations of the LDNR and the annexation of Ukrainian territories, and also voted against the resolutions condemning the Russian aggression .
Recall that The New York Times, citing US declassified data intelligence, reported that Russia “is desperate” to buy millions of shells and missiles from North Korea.
The Office of the President then announced that Ukraine would demilitarize the DPRK following Russia.
