“72 (!) Shells flew into the Vorozhbyan community from Russia in one day … Unfortunately, we have a fatal case. A 62-year-old local resident was killed by shrapnel, who was in the garden during shelling. The shell exploded just a few meters away from him. Another local resident was injured,” Zhivitsky said.
Zhivitsky noted that at noon the enemy hit the mass of Vorozhbyansk from cannon artillery. The “arrivals” were on the streets, in the courtyards of local residents, there were also direct hits on buildings.
Subsequently, the same bulk was also fired from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
“3 private houses were badly damaged. Only a little was left of one house. A summer kitchen, a bathhouse and prisons were destroyed. Electrical networks were destroyed and gas pipes were damaged by fragments. Emergency teams are working in the area. Shells also exploded near an apartment building. Three apartments were damaged: windows were broken, window and door frames were torn,” said the head of the Regional State Administration.
In addition, due to Russian terrorist shelling on Sunday, the railway infrastructure was damaged in the section between Sumy and Konotop.
