If it turns out that Russia used Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine, then Tehran “will not remain indifferent to this issue,” assured the Foreign Minister.
Iran has supplied drones to Russia, but it did so before the start of a full-scale war by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said this, IRNA reported on Friday, November 5.
“As for the drones, this is true, and we gave Russia a small number of drones a few months before the war in Ukraine,” Abdollahian said.
The Foreign Minister noted that in a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, they agreed to transfer evidence to Tehran about the use of Iranian drones.
“If it turns out that Russia used Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine, we will not remain indifferent to this issue. Our position on the war in Ukraine is to end the war, return the parties to the negotiations and return the refugees to their homes. Iran at the level of the president and minister of Foreign Affairs has made a lot of efforts in this regard,” Abdollahian said.
He also assured that Iran has not provided missiles to Russia.
Note that earlier Iran has repeatedly denied the supply of drones to Russia. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already shot down more than 300 Shahed-136 Iranian kamikaze drones, marked by the Russians as Geran-2.
