Anti-war action in Ulan-Ude interrupted a pro-government rally in honor of National Unity Day, local Telegram channels reported.
In Ulan-Ude, police detained several participants in an anti-war rally in Soviet Square, including at least five women, the OVD-Info Telegram channel reported on Friday, November 4.
The three detained women were taken to the police station. Later, two of them were released after issuing a warning, the channel’s authors pointed out. A man named Vladimir Platoshkin was also imprisoned. According to OVD-Info, a protocol was made against him to discredit the Russian army.
As the participants of the action later said, its main result was the disruption of the pro-government rally in honor of the National Unity Day. As the Telegram channel Real Buryatia wrote, “police blocked off Sovetov Square and started stopping everyone who tried to pass.”
The course of mobilization in Buryatia
In September, the president of the Free Buryatia Foundation, Alexandra Garmazhapova, spoke in an interview with DW about the difficult course of mobilizing reservists in Buryatia to participate in the war against Ukraine.
According to him, this mobilization is “not partial, but complete.” The calls were passed at night, and “the villages were combed far and wide”: “They came to people who had long retired, to those who were disabled in their care, with prostheses, who had recently undergone surgery and cannot Sit for another six months. They also issued a subpoena at the workplace itself.”
On October 12, the first deputy military commissar of Buryatia, Colonel Igor Kibalnik, announced the continuation of “planned work on partial mobilization”, while noting that in Buryatia the “additional recruitment” was small.
Earlier, on September 30, the region reported the completion of a task in Buryatia for partial mobilization and the closing of collection points for recruits.
