Polina Kozlova, a student from Kherson, won the International Genius Olympiad in the USA in the nomination Creative writing. The award was brought to him by a poem in English about ocean pollution, Suspіlne reported on Friday, November 4.
Before the whole invasion began, the girl studied in the 10th grade of Kherson Physical-Technical Lyceum, planned to study oriental languages.
The All-Ukrainian stage of the Genius Olympiad is held by the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. At that time, Polina already participated in the competition of scientific works, so she was offered to participate in the Olympiad. The girl wrote a poem in English about ocean pollution while she was temporarily captured by Kherson. It took him a week.
Later, the girl went to Canada, where a friend of her mother lived. Together with new friends, Polina starts volunteering: she helps immigrants from Ukraine settle.
After graduating from school in Canada, the girl plans to enter the specialty Journalism and filmmaking. In the future, Polina wants to create documentaries.
Recall that last year a student of the Novokakhovskaya school in the Kherson region Victoria Panchenko was officially recognized as a genius in the United States. The student created an eco-project to clean rivers and received a $15,000 grant to study at New York University, as well as a bronze medal at the World Olympiad of Geniuses.
Earlier, six-year-old Marko Danchevsky from the Lviv region named 196 countries of the world in a record 13.5 minutes and set a new Ukrainian record.
