Joint maneuvers will take place in the Gulf of Finland and the northern part of the Baltic Sea on November 7th and 8th.
A naval team of NATO’s rapid reaction forces will arrive in Finland to participate in naval exercises. This was reported on November 4 by the Interfax-Ukraine agency with reference to the Finnish Ministry of Defense.
It was noted that three ships of the alliance will dock at the port of Hernesaari in Helsinki from November 4 to 7, and then hold a two-day joint exercise with the Coastal Fleet, which is part of the Finnish Navy.
The maneuvers will take place in the Gulf of Finland and the northern part of the Baltic Sea. Their goal is to improve the operational joint activities of NATO ships and the Finnish Coastal Fleet in the coastal zone.
The agency emphasized that, unlike last year’s exercises, the alliance’s ships were not open to the public.
Earlier it was reported that the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO was approved by 28 member countries of the alliance out of 30 (except Turkey and Hungary).
