In the consistent position of the juvenile prosecutors of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Supreme Court dismissed the cassation appeal of a resident of the Chernihiv region. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the attempted rape of an 8-year-old boy while drunk. This was reported by the Office of the Attorney General.
In the courts, prosecutors proved that the convicted in July 2020, under the guise of treating him with watermelon, lured the boy to his house. Using force, he tried to seduce the boy. Fortunately, the crime was not committed because of the drunkenness of the convict.
Also, by court decision, information about a citizen will be included in the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes against Sexual Freedom and Sexual Inviolability of a Minor.
Earlier in Kyiv, a man was tried for raping a teenage girl. Now he will spend the next 11 years in prison.
