Azerbaijan increases gas supplies to Europe by 60%

According to the results of the current year, the growth of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe is expected at the level of 18%.

Azerbaijan increased gas supplies through the Trans -Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) by 60% in the first quarter – up to 4 billion cubic meters. This was announced on Friday, April 22, by the first vice -president – acting president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovshan Najaf.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, in the same period last year, 2.5 billion cubic meters were brought to Turkey and Europe: 1.4 billion cubic meters in Turkey and 1.1 billion cubic meters in Europe.

This year, the volume of Azerbaijani gas transportation via TANAP to Turkey and Europe is planned at the level of 16.2 billion cubic meters. Last year, 13.73 billion cubic meters of gas were brought here. Export growth is expected at the level of 18%.

Earlier, the EU announced that it would continue to reduce Russia’s oil and gas purchases at a rapid pace.
