Russia’s decision puts at risk a key export route for much-needed grain and fertilizer, the EU diplomat said.
The European Union has called on Russia to reconsider its decision to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian grain export deal. This is what EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said on Sunday, October 30.
“The EU is calling on Russia to reverse its decision,” he wrote in Twitter.
According to Borrell, “Russia’s decision to suspend participation in the Black Sea deal jeopardizes a key export route for much-needed grain and fertilizer to overcome the global food crisis caused by its war against Ukraine.”
Remember, on the eve of Russia it was announced that it stopped participating in the implementation of the grain agreement, allegedly because of the “act of terrorism” in Sevastopol Bay, where Russian ships were attacked.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, said that the Russian Federation had found an enormous reason to block the grain corridor, and called on the states of the world to demand that the invaders stop the “hunger games” and return to their obligations.
And now it is known that as of October 30, there was no agreement on the movement of ships along the maritime humanitarian corridor as part of a grain deal.
