These drones were ordered before the start of Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, Mariusz Blaszczak said.
The Polish army received the first attack of Bayraktar TV2 drones. This is what the country’s Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said, Ukrinform reported on Friday, October 28.
“This is an important stage in the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces. We are starting the process of transferring Bayraktar complexes to military units,” Blashak said at a media briefing at the 12th drone base in the village of Miroslavets, West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
According to him, the drones were ordered even before the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. And the successful use of these drones by the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows their effectiveness and the need to have this type of vehicle in the Polish army.
The first Bayraktar complex, consisting of six drones, is already at the 12th base. Maintenance staff are trained in Turkey. Radars and monitoring stations have also been received.
In total, Poland ordered four Bayraktar complexes – 24 vehicles.
