Eight cases of indirect participation of minors in the collection or transfer of military information to occupiers were recorded.
The Prosecutor General’s Office recorded eight cases of Russia’s involvement of Ukrainian children in the war as informers. This was announced on April 21 by Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
He noted that juvenile prosecutors have two focuses – child victims and child offenders.
“Children. Ukrainian children. It is mentally fattening and so painful that they are being used by cynical, heartless villains in war … Russia is poisoning their souls and forcing them to indirectly participate in collection or transfer of military information on the occupiers, the transportation of weapons, etc. And this is a direct violation of the requirements of Article 38 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We recorded the participation of eight children in such actions, “said Venediktova.
For example, in the Kharkiv region, a 12-year-old teenager, using Telegram channels, sent information about the location of equipment, checkpoints, and military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the intent to receive of reward for it. A similar fact is in the Luhansk region.
In the Chernihiv region, during the occupation of one of the villages, a minor local resident received from representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation the task of conducting reconnaissance of positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“At the same time, a 16-year-old man” taught “enemies” in the housing, its owners are associated with law enforcement agencies or military units of Ukraine and own weapons . He also showed them where you could get food, tobacco and alcohol. The teenager was detained and the authorities were cooperating with him prior to the trial of the investigation in Ukraine, ”the prosecutor general said.
In the Kharkiv region, a local 17-year-old resident shared complimentary materials through a YouTube channel in support of the aggressor’s actions in Ukraine.
And in one of the western regions of Ukraine, three students, for recreation, called randomly selected subscribers with a proposal to install so-called “tags”. With a quick response from the security services, the students were immediately exposed.
Venediktova recalled that, according to Ukrainian law, parents are responsible for such actions of children. So far, however, the destructive influence and action of the Russian Federation is the most important factor on which children must be protected.
Earlier it was reported that a 17-year-old resident of the Buchansky district of the Kiev region was suspected of high treason and secret theft of another person’s property, committed under martial law.
