Almost 90,000 Ukrainians came to Canada by air and more than 15,000 by land.
Since the beginning of the year, 105,000 Ukrainian citizens have come to Canada. About 15% of them entered the country from the United States. The Canada Border Agency reported this on Thursday, October 27.
It is indicated that nearly 90,000 Ukrainians arrived in Canada by air and more than 15,000 by land.
At the same time, the numbers include not only newly arrived Ukrainians, but also our compatriots with long-term residence permits in Canada.
Recall that in mid-March Canada announced new temporary resettlement programs for Ukrainian refugees. Almost 630,000 Ukrainians applied for them, and more than 312,000 documents were issued. There is no record of the number of holders of these visas who eventually came to Canada.
At the same time, Canada organized charter flights that transported Ukrainians from European countries to different regions of the country for free.
