As a result of Russia’s massive invasion, more than 1.35 trillion hryvnias were damaged in the environment of Ukraine. This was announced by the coordinator of the Operational Headquarters for solving environmental crimes of the Russian Federation, People’s Deputy Elena Krivoruchkina on Thursday, October 27.

Damage is calculated in areas such as damage to land resources, atmospheric air and water resources.

“According to the calculated cases, the total damage is more than 1.35 trillion hryvnias. We are talking about 574 cases that have been committed to more than 800 included in the register,” said Krivoruchkina.

According to him, the greatest damage is caused by atmospheric wind – the damage in this direction is more than 924 billion hryvnias.

At the same time, the Operational Headquarters, which operates on the basis of the State Environmental Inspectorate, added that the amount of damage may increase significantly after analyzing all registered cases with signs of environmental crime, as well as after conducting necessary checks on de-occupied territories.

In the future, the evidence base collected by the specialists of the Operational Headquarters will be used in international lawsuits against the Russian Federation.

Recall that at the beginning of September, $ 326 billion of direct damage from the Russian invasion has already been proven. Such data was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.
