The head of the Institute of National Memory of Poland stressed that the symbol of the Soviet system is being dismantled.

The head of the IPN noted that Russia now provides criminal prosecution for the dismantling of monuments of the Soviet era, including those abroad.
“This shows what the mentality of the Russian Federation is: it wants to influence the appearance of the law and the implementation of the law in a free and independent Poland,” he said.
Monuments were dismantled, in addition to Glubczyce, also in Byczyn, Opole Voivodeship, Bobolice, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, and Staszew, Swietokrzyski Voivodeship. All four monuments were built in 1945.
