The new head of the British government said that Ukraine will receive unprecedented aid.
London will continue to support Kyiv in its confrontation with Moscow. This is what British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, October 25, the press service of the British government reported.
“The prime minister said that the UK’s support for Ukraine during his premiership will be as strong as ever, and President Zelensky can count on his government to continue to show solidarity,” the statement said.
It was noted that both leaders agreed on the need to continue to put pressure on “Putin’s barbaric regime through continued economic sanctions.”
Finally, Sunak expressed his hope that he would soon meet Zelensky in person.
It can be remembered that, the previous day, King Charles III of Great Britain accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Liz Truss and appointed Rishi Sunak as the new head of the British government. The first leader Sunak called was the Ukrainian president.
