The restoration of Ukraine will take a long time, and it will concern not only Germany and Europe.
Russia must be persuaded to make a financial contribution to the reconstruction of Ukraine. This was said by the Federal Minister of Development of Germany, Svenja Schulze, on the air of the NTV channel.
“At the moment, there is nothing in international law that would make something like this possible. I think it would make a lot of sense if Russia was also involved,” he said.
According to Schulze, it is not yet possible to name the exact figure of how much will be spent on the restoration of Ukraine.
“Unbelievable amounts are being discussed today, but in fact, no one can yet say exactly how much money is needed, because it also depends on how much, unfortunately, will still be destroyed,” said minister
He also said that support for the reconstruction of the country is absolutely necessary, because Ukraine is not far from Germany.
“It is a neighbor in the Eastern Partnership. We should be interested in strengthening the entire Eastern Partnership, because it is not known what the Kremlin is doing, what other plans Putin has,” said Schulze.
In his opinion, the reconstruction of Ukraine is “a project for a generation.”
“It will definitely take some time, and it will concern not only Germany and Europe, but an issue for the whole world, which should help finance,” said the minister.
Remember, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his view on the “Marshall Plan” for Ukraine.
And German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his visit to Kyiv promised further support to Ukraine.
