Total US military aid to Ukraine has reached more than $18.3 billion since the beginning of the Biden administration.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov spoke with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. At the same time, the parties discussed the disinformation spread by Russia about the “dirty bomb” allegedly being prepared by Ukraine and the new US military aid. On Monday, October 24, the minister himself informed about this to Twitter.
“I accept the clear position of the United States on non-reaction to provocations and zero tolerance for blackmail. We also discussed the next package of American security assistance for Ukraine,” Reznikov wrote.
Reznikov did not reveal the details of the new aid from the United States, but promised to introduce them later.
The Pentagon has not yet released details of the phone call.
Recall that in the Russian Federation they began to spread false statements about the alleged preparation of a provocation by Ukraine with a “dirty bomb”. This is also what Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in talks with colleagues from Turkey, France, Great Britain and the United States.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Shoigu’s “dirty bomb” claim is an attempt to slow down or stop Western military aid to Ukraine and weaken NATO.
