Further blackouts are possible in Ukraine. Lights can be turned off everywhere. On Thursday, October 20, Ukrenergo said in a statement.

Specifically, it is said to be Friday.

“Another difficult day awaits us all – temporary restrictions on energy consumption will be possible throughout Ukraine. In which places – we will inform you tomorrow morning. Please keep your phones charged and forward information to non-users of social networks,” the company said.

As noted by Ukrenergo, Ukrainians can find out about power outages in their region on the website of local electricity distribution system operators.

As Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, said on the air of the national telethon, this practice is paying off.

“Today’s shutdown schedules, which unfortunately had to be implemented due to the lack of capacity in the power grid, have been effective. It is a controlled tool for stabilizing the power system. After the large-scale destruction, the system of electricity needs to be restored. At this time, measures such as limiting consumption should be expected” – said Kudritsky.

According to him, it does not take days, even weeks to restore the networks to their original state. But to restore the margin of safety of Ukraine’s energy system, it will take several weeks.

“But, unfortunately, voluntary consumption restrictions have not been enough so far, as a result of which we have been forced to apply restrictions to some businesses and apply emergency shutdown schedules for citizens,” he added.

It should be noted that in Poltava and the Ternopil region, street patrols have been introduced: law enforcement officers will identify businessmen who have not turned off the outdoor light, that is, violating the energy saving regime .
