Spanish agents seized 66 kg of cocaine, which they hid in industrial equipment purchased in Peruand arrested eight people.
The arrests took place in the province Barcelona (northeast) and Almeria (southeast), reported on Wednesday Police officer.
The investigation began when Peruvian authorities alerted agents of an organization based in Peru D Spainspecialized in the export of large quantities of cocaine, hidden inside large-capacity rolling machines, through sea containers.
The criminal group acquired industrial equipment in the city of Peruwhere several people with knowledge of mechanics opened hidden compartments inside to hide medicine. Subsequently, the machines were exported by sea containers to Spain.

At the beginning of April last year, arriving at the port of Algeciras in the south Spainfrom a suspicious container where agents found four heavy-duty rolling machines that were “slightly” modified.
A month later, they discovered that the container had arrived by truck at a farm in the province Barcelonawhere several people unloaded equipment and began to manipulate it.
Six members of the organization were surprised and detained as they began the extraction process. cocainewhile the investigators seized 61 tablets of this substance with a total weight of about 66 kg.
A police investigation led to the identification and whereabouts of the two people who bought the goods, who were arrested last September.
This is not the first case of a cover-up. cocaine in industrial equipment to try and inject drugs into Spain. In the same year, two more operations were carried out, during which more than a ton of this drug was seized.
