Germany will support Ukraine as long as necessary, the chancellor assured.
In the spring of 2023, Germany will train up to 5,000 military personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at its training grounds. This is enough to equip a whole new brigade. This is what German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in his speech at a government briefing in the Bundestag on Thursday, October 20.
“Thus, we emphasize our readiness to continue working on creating a strong Ukrainian army, hand in hand with our partners,” he said.
We are talking about the obligation of EU countries on October 17 to create a joint mission to train about 15,000 Ukrainian military personnel in training centers in Europe, where they are not threatened by attacks missile attack from the Russian invaders.
Germany will be one of the two main places for the training of Ukrainian soldiers under this program, Scholz added.
The Chancellor expressed confidence that Ukraine will continue to successfully defend itself against Russian aggression.
“And we will support it – as long as necessary,” assured Scholz.
It was previously reported that the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained in Germany. They learned howitzers PzH 2000 and MLRS Mars.
At the same time, Ukrainians in Germany were spied on by unknown people using drones. Unofficially, Russia suspects it.
