According to a European diplomat, the decision was approved “fifteen minutes before our conversation” and will be approved by a written procedure with further publication on Thursday.
“Sanctions have been approved against three individuals and a drone manufacturing company,” he said.
Thus, sanctions were imposed on the company Shahed Aviation Industries, which is responsible for the design and development of the Iranian Shahed drone.
“A secret series of drones was given to the Russian Federation and used in an aggressive war against Ukraine. Therefore, Shahed Aviation Industries is responsible for supporting the government of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the annexation of Crimea and the destabilization . of Ukraine,” the document said.
Also on the sanctions list are the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the commander of the Aerospace Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, Syed Aghajani, and Khojatol Ghoreishi, who is in charge of logistics at the Iranian Ministry of Defense.
We remind you, earlier said the high representative of the EU, Josep Borrell. that EU countries are collecting evidence of Russia’s use of Iranian-made drones in the war in Ukraine and are ready to respond.
At the same time, official Tehran denied the transfer of weapons to Russia, including kamikaze drones, which have recently been widely used for attacks in Ukraine.
