Guest of France 2’s new political program Wednesday, called “The event“Emmanuel Macron has now returned to the main international issues, particularly the war in Ukraine. The President of the Republic spoke about one of the hot topics of the moment: the nuclear threat and French restraint. “Our teaching is based on the fundamental interests of the Nation and they are very clearly defined. If there was a nuclear ballistic attack on Ukraine, these interests would not be questioned“, he explained.
So France’s response will not be nuclear? “It is obvious– answered the president. By being so clear about the French nuclear doctrine, Emmanuel Macron has freed himself from a certain ambiguity that systematically dominates the issue of deterrence.
