The General Staff noted that during the day, areas with more than 25 settlements fell under enemy fire.
During the day on October 17, the invaders launched nine missiles and 39 air strikes on Ukraine, carried out about 30 MLRS attacks, and also attacked with kamikaze drones. This was stated in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is known that areas with more than 25 settlements fell under enemy fire. Among them – Kyiv, Zaporozhye; Cossack Lopan and Strelechye of the Kharkov region; Krasnogorovka, Terny, Soledar and Maryinka of the Donetsk region, Belogorka of the Kherson region; as well as other settlements of Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev and Sumy regions.
There were no significant changes in the directions of Volyn and Polesye. A planned rotation of units of the Armed Forces of Belarus involved in the protection of the state border is underway. The threat of missile and air strikes, as well as the use of kamikaze drones from the territory of Belarus, remains, the General Staff said.
In a different direction, the Russians carried out shelling:

in the direction of Seversk – from artillery of various types, in the areas of Popovka and Khodino settlements, Sumy region;

in the Slobozhansky direction – from tanks, mortars, cannons and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Vysokaya Yaruga, Volchansk, Volchanskie Khutor, Kazachya Lopan, Ogurtsovo and Gatishche;

in the direction of Kramatorsk – from tanks and artillery along the collision line. In particular, in the areas of settlements Grekovka, Stelmakhovka, Zarechnoe, Kiselevka, Terny and Yampolevka;

in the directions of Bakhmut and Avdeevsky, the attackers fired from tanks, mortars, cannons and rocket artillery along the entire collision line.

In the directions of Novopavlovsk and Zaporozhye, the invaders fired at more than 25 settlements. Among them are Bolshaya Novoselka, Pavlovka, Olgovskoe and Malye Shcherbaki.

In the direction of South Buzh, the Russians are defending the previously occupied lines and positions. Objects of military and civilian infrastructure are taken over. More than 35 settlements along the collision line were damaged by fire.
