The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced its intention to pay 100 thousand dollars for the transfer of Igor Girkin to Ukrainian captivity.
The National Anti-Corruption Agency said officials could be rewarded for the capture of Russian war criminal terrorist Igor Girkin. However, a reward for his capture must be included in the declaration. The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption announced this on Sunday on Facebook.
It was noted that many civil servants since the beginning of the Russian invasion went to defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands.
“So, is it possible for the declarant to receive a reward for the transfer of the terrorist Girkin to the Main Intelligence Directorate? Yes, the law does not prohibit the receipt of such a reward by the subjects of the declaration. At the same time, these funds should be noted as income in the declaration for 2022,” the NACP said.
Girkin (also known as Igor Strelkov, “Strelok” and Sergey Runov) is wanted in Ukraine for terrorist activities, torture, murder and violations of state sovereignty.
The Netherlands placed him on the international wanted list in connection with the downing of a civilian Boeing 777 flight MH17 in 2014.
The previous day, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced its intention to pay 100 thousand dollars for the transfer of Igor Girkin to Ukrainian captivity.
