The state of Mexico City, the most populous in the country, approves same-sex marriages.

Central Congress Condition Mexico, the capital’s neighbor and most populous country, on Tuesday approved amendments to the law to allow marriages between two people of the same sex, in addition to recognizing cohabitation on an equal footing.

The approved opinion establishes reforms in various articles and additions to Civil Codeon the requirements for marriage and the definition of cohabitation, and Rights D obligations who are born from cohabitation.

“Approves the Legislative Assembly LXI State of Mexico same-sex marriage. The reforms also recognize equal cohabitation. Same-sex marriage is a social institution whereby two people freely decide to share their lives,” the official Twitter account of the Mexico State Legislature said.

On 27 September it was approved in legislative committees Congress states, same-sex marriages in State of Mexico.

The reform was approved by 50 votes to 16, most of them from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and 6 abstentions.

With this resolution, the organization becomes the 29th organization in the country to reform Civil Code which allows same-sex marriage.

Literally September 22 last year Durango became the 28th organization to approve equal marriages.

At the national level, only Guerrero, Tabasco and Tamaulipas are left to change their Civil Codes and bring them in line with the rulings of the country’s Supreme Court (SCSC), which has repeatedly ruled on the constitutionality of the reform.
