The Red Cross has admitted it does not have access to thousands of Ukrainian prisoners in Russian-controlled territory.
The United Nations called on the Kremlin not to interfere with the work of the Red Cross and to give its representatives access to all Ukrainian soldiers in Russian captivity. This was said on Friday, October 14, in a statement by the representative of the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric.
“The Secretary General of the UN appeals again to the Russian Federation with a request to give the International Committee of the Red Cross full access to all prisoners of war,” said the spokesperson of the organization.
Dujarric emphasized that the standards of international humanitarian law, particularly the Third Geneva Convention, should be implemented.
Remember, on the eve of the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak said that the ICRC must send a mission to Yelenovka in the next three days, otherwise Ukraine will use all information and diplomatic means to move the issue this.
